Drug dealing is as addictive as taking drugs!

If I cannot comprehend the logic of somebody else's actions, I want to know why they're doing something so illogical. Does that make sense?

So I have posed the same question to every single drug dealer I have ever encountered;

"Why do you deal drugs?"

Drug dealing makes no sense to me. The consequences, outweigh the benefits tenfold. Surprisingly, every drug dealer who has answered my question, has agreed!!!

Furthermore, the ONLY conclusion the drug dealers in agreement have arrived at, is because;

Drug dealing is as addictive as taking drugs!

  • Taking drugs numbs the addict's emotional pain.

  • Dealing drugs enables the dealer to gain something they need.

  • Taking drugs gives the user a 'rush' or 'buzz' from that particular drugs effect.

  • Dealing drugs gives the dealer a 'rush' or 'buzz' from the thrill and excitement.

  • Taking drugs gives the user the feeling of power through false confidence.

  • Dealing drugs gives the dealer the feeling of power through reputation.

My point is, just as punishing an addict for taking drugs doesn't get results, punishing a drug dealer for selling drugs doesn't work either. That much is obvious!

Is it time to think of categorising drug dealing as an addiction too?
